Stay away from 450c, thats a monster and very old technology, I highly recommend getting 404C II from adorama for $259. You will thank me later

I am going to have to disagree with you 100%.. Old tech? These are speakers not exactly high tech as far as the rp line goes. The "tech" on the 450c/504 has been 95% the same for many years now and if you listen to both of them, they sound 95% the same. They make subtle incremental changes every 4-5 years, that's why the marketing dept is so good at doing at Klipsch. The 404C can't touch it's bigger cousins at all especially when it comes to reproducing voices in the lower range that a great center needs to work in to be accurate. sure, they will all do the higher octaves just fine but when it comes to mid range and lower range on a center that is where the 450/504 really shine over the 404. It;s simple physics between the two due to there size and drivers. The advise to go w/ 404 over a 450 is just wrong other then if you do not have the room for the 450/504 then sure go w/ the 404. I know klipsch better then most as I have been running them for decades and I would not buy a 404 unless I did not have the room for the much superior 450/504's.

Experts, 450 vs 504? What do you recommend? I have an old Polka basic one and would like to upgrade. Thank you.

Whatever is cheaper as they sound exactly the same! and even cheaper the 450C sounds 95% the same, I was picking up new 450c's for $180 at new egg when they were blowing them out about 2 years ago, that was a steel!

If you can somehow manage this speaker in your setup, you will thank yourself. It's day and night between the 25C,52C model vs 450C, 504C. These are big but wow they sound so good 😊. This is from someone who has started from budget monoprice center to sony center to Klipsch 25C, then 450C.

Right now experimenting SVS prime, Monolith Thx 365C. I am confused which one to keep but I have enjoyed klipsch 450C the most.

Finally, if someone convinces me that 504C ii is huge upgrade to my 450C, I will give it a shot.

For folks who are on the fence, this is the time to buy a big upgrade nice center. Buy it while we have this deal. 250+-350$ is a steal for these center speakers. Do it. You will not regret it. Worst case send it back. Center and subwoofer are the most important things in your home theater setup period.
The 30c Next-Gen Reference is a height that works for me. Is this in the same class? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/...source=PDP

I do not know if it is a bug or something, but if you use Paypal express payment, they won't charge tax. Even better deal with no tax and 5% cashback with my Chase CC on paypal.

Finally grabbed RP-504C II. I hesitated a lot since so many on Reddit called this center crap because it is not 3 way speaker and even slight off axis will hugely impact quality of the sound. I will see soon how much of this is true

it is not, it is their cheaper reference line that I am replacing with premier reference (RP in the name vs R)

they do not know what they are talking about, if they new the engineering into the 450c/504 then they should know that klipsch was very clever in how the x-over works on it, it creates a 3 way speaker by having the 4 drivers do different frequencies two create teh real effect of a dedicated a "woofer", a "mid" and the horn for everything else. This is so key at to why these centers are so freaking great! The design is simple yet genius in how they make it sound like a $1,000+ center with almost perfect frequency overlap thanks to the x-over design plus the horn is a monster when it needs to do f email voices while the 4 drivers can do the best men's low octave voices I have yet to hear from a center under 1K.. I could go more into the tech aspect of exactly how these create a 3 way unit but it's Sd so I won;t.. If you want to be floored, put in a blu -ray/4k of gladiator or the patriot or Bravheart, etc and listen to there voices , close your eyes and you will not believe that it's reproducing those low males voices with such clarity and layered imaging.. Two things when it comes to speakers, Ignore the msrps as they mean nothing and don't listen to all the experts out there . The only one that has to love the way it sounds is YOU!
