A thought.

Best Buy is $ 199. If theirs is a hard case, they probably won't price match.
Three colors to choose from.
ADH PROTECTION $ 49 for two yeas. Using Amex adds a third year. If you don't add the BB warranty, $ 199 and Amex and some others add a second year of coverage.

Costco.
Soft case.
Black only.
90 day return.
Can use a Visa that adds a year of protection.

I guess for $ 30 extra, you get a choice of several colors, and a hard case ( I think).
You forfeit the Costco 90 day return policy.

Allstate Protection offers 3 years for $ 59. I used them once for a washing machine repair. Very fast repair service. Fixed in 4 days. Problem diagnosed over the phone. Part expressed to my home. Repair person the next day.

With the Allstate 3 year Ptotection a plan, Amex adds a fourth year.

Wrestling with the choice.

I am curious if anyone here can provide some insights as to how these compare, primarily sound-wise, to something like Galaxy Buds2 Pro?

I know there's quite a bit of difference, obviously, when it comes to the formfactor - apples and oranges...

But sound quality, as well as noise cancellation, are of primary importance to me.

I've been using Galaxy Buds since the initial version release, and generally find them to be great - great sound, great features, decent noise cancelling, great battery life, and great portability.

It's difficult to find many such comparisons, though the 2 I can find that compare these 2 devices seem to favor the Galaxy Buds2 Pro...

Anyone have an opinion?

what is the difference between QuietComfort vs QuietComfort Ultra?
Comparison here: https://www.pcmag.com/comparisons...are-better

Conclusion: "The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones come out on top in most of the categories we consider, but whether they are worth the extra $80 depends on how much you value their advantages. For example, if you don't mind losing out on the ActiveSense Aware feature, a more adaptive noise cancellation approach, AptX Adaptive support, and immersive audio modes, then the less expensive headphones are a perfectly good way to save some money. But if you don't want to make any compromises, the Ultra Headphones offer the best over-ear noise-cancellation experience you can get right now."

Every major retailer is now at 199 for the regular, multicolor option
those with Amex may have a 30$ off 200$ offer to buy direct from Bose (90 day return) effectively matching Costco's price (with some extra for tax difference) for the hard case and choice of colors.

For the Amex offer does just getting the headphones ($199) qualify or do you need some fillers to go above $200

Am assuming most people's total will be above 200 with taxes.

If noise canceling feature is the main purpose, would it be a no brainer to get the AirPod Pro 2 instead which has unbeatable noise canceling and then some, for a fraction of the weight and bulk?

Some people, like me, have irritation issues if using in-ear phones for a long time. I can wear over the ear cans for hours and be just fine.

Are these better than Sony XM4s? I tried those and returned. I found sound to be muffled for some reason compared to my beats Studio.
