Pretty much all 86" are bad quality cheap panels with subpar visual qualities, 85" is the standard panel size now and where the quality panels are at.

That said, just like audiophile reviews, a good percentage of the population will never know the difference since they are already on 10 year old crap with worse visuals.

I'm looking to maybe upgrade my 5yr old 75 LG to an 85 this year. I think a 2024 85" TCL is a better value in the $1k range. This TV is from 2021. Like most people I'm not looking for anything vidoephile quality, just something bigger and better than my budget 75 I have now.

I'm eyeing this one
TCL 85-Inch Q68 QLED Pro 4K UHD Smart TV with Google TV (85Q681G, 2024 Model) Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR Pro, Game Accelerator up to 120Hz, Voice Remote, Works with Alexa, Streaming Television https://a.co/d/2XDvBKs

Good point.. I can't go back to light bleed and blobbing, etc.. plus If LED has to be 120hz panel and full local dimming other wise not dealing w/ it unless it's super cheap and serves a purpose like the $138 walmart deal for guest room, gym, etc, actually the tv is better then I thought but I had no expectations for a cheap $130 set..lol.

I personally would spend the couple hundred extra bucks and get the 85" Hisense 85U7N. You can always check rtings for comparison.

Nah. Couple hundred bucks is a lot of money for me. I've lived off budget TVs my whole life just fine. Plus, I don't trust Hisense longevity.
