I have to pull down all the shutters in the house this spring and repaint so this deal caught my eye. Anyone have any experience with this. I'm old-school brush & roller for projects like this and not sure it would be worth the effort to set up, spray and clean. One sidenote, I did click on the Amazon link to read customer reviews and the very first one that came up was a detailed review, giving it a thumbs up… but used it for their spray tan business . I can't seem to get past that review. Anybody have experience (with painting, not spray tan).

I got it from Home Depot on clearance a few years ago and stained a brand new fence with it. The job went way faster and better than using a brush, and it had good reviews. All for the cost of a good brush

Good deal 👌
I've had 2 of these
First one lasted about 15 hours of cumulative run time before it stopped working but I was able to return to WM for a refund
2nd one has about 10 hours on it and running well so far
Its basically a hot air blower which pushes hot air through the paint to spray - it's simple to use, easy to clean
You can get a fairly nice finish on it once you learn the ropes.
It doesn't handle thicker paint or primer very well though
Definitely more of a smaller project thing (like furniture, sheets of wood etc) rather than a fence or bigger job.

Is there something like this that's feasible for use for automotive paint yet?
I painted a car bumper using the Wagner MotoCoat system; was very similar to this except costs 4x as much and can spray much thicker product without thinning. I used the detail sprayer with auto paint and had minimal orange peel that only took a little wet sanding to resolve.

No experience with this, but I have a fancier Graco that is a pain to setup and to clean and maintain, and was thinking this might be nice for smaller jobs. Not sure yet, but for this price it may be worth a shot.
Either way, painting shutters with a brush and roller is a HUGE pain and takes forever. Literally today I saw Mauro on Ask This Old House showing how he paints shutters, with a sprayer. He takes 4 and stacks them flat, nothing separating them, and sprays all around the sides first. Then he unstacks them and paints the faces. He agrees basically that painting shutters sucks and says it's way easier and faster with a sprayer.

Yes, very similar to the posted deal. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner when running- not an air compressor. More like a fan.
If I were only doing home decor I would do a lower power system like this deal; the MotoCoat is much more powerful because it's spraying much thicker product.
