The cheapest it's been on Steam is $14 and this expanded edition includes the two DLC packs that sell together for another $14, not to mention this is a physical release, so $30 is a pretty solid deal.

I picked this up on Steam for $5 a few months ago (not the expanded version). Haven't played it yet but it has solid reviews.

Not sure the Switch platform commands a $25 premium, but at least ya know.

I know they want people to sign up for their nibtendo online service but would be nice if they released a snes, n64, gamecube or nes collection game. They'd definitely make money off that.

The NSO subscription service is why they won't do it and why we'll probably never seen a N64 mini/classic like we got with the NES and SNES ones (which was before NSO).

You have until Jan to return. Might as well lock in the price now and if you see it for less in coming weeks you can buy that and return this copy. That's what I'm doing. I don't think the expanded version will get much cheaper for a few months though. It probably will drop to $20 in the spring once all the nostalgia people already own it. I mean this was made for Gen X.

Yeah, my edition has 90+ games, while this has about 150 games, so it's definitely more content for the hardcore fans.

Found it, I paid $4.20 for it on Steam. It was a slickdeal. https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/984438

I get it, but the sub is $20/year. Not "owning" the ROMs, but they do add new ones here and there. To me it's worth it, not having to deal with the eccentricities of the homebrewed emulators and such, particularly when trying to get kids interested in these older (and simpler to play) games.

I paid like 79 bucks for the steelbook version of this at Gamestop, and it was worth it just to play Bounty Bob Strikes Back again! While I had it got the C64, one of the versions on this cart is almost the same. Brought back some good memories! There are SO MANY games and insights on this thing, I HIGHLY recommend it, esp at this price point

Yes, but it's more than that.

One of the things that is really liked about this is the presentation, with videos, interviews, art, source material, timelines. The presentation is supposed to be really, really good.

Here's a list of the 103 games included with the original Atari 50:
https://www.ign.com/wikis/atari-5..._Game_List

These two links have the additional 39 games in the Expanded Edition:

This reminds me that old computer my office manager squirreled away in the during the last computer refresh instead of it going to the surplusers..or was it the time before that. Then one day my computers stopped working. Sine my manager was a not it all and treated the IT fixer people like serfs there was no telling how long it'd be before they set foot near my manager to fix my stuff. But the manager didnt blink twice and went to the closet and out comes the mega tower. iT must be fast cause its so big right? Wrong t was as sllow as someone taking after they ate a big spoon of creamy peanut butter... or spackling. We are talking 30 min boot times, windows 95, and ii could type faster than it could display on the screen. Since manager hooked me up, he saw no reason for me having decreased metrics. That was fun high blood pressure headache inducing pacing waiting for the comuter to reboot knowing it onlytakes one bad day to trash my metricss.peroid of my life that for some reason i find similarity to those olden days when we played Atari for marathon immersive eye-strain headache inducing 1-2 hour sessions. I'm not a masochist, so Atari= not fun.

I can get it for the kids, so they can see the stories i told about or hardships were rea and then walk a mile in my shoes and they would gain a better understanging of how tough, smart, witty, cool of a dad i am and not brush aside so many of my teachings. And they'll realize when they beat me in a video game, its something they can be proud of because I'm OG. BUt if not, i can get this for their stocking instead of coal. and if they get into any trouble during the year i can be generous and allow them to play this and not the xbox game.

This game is way overpriced. They should be released for free because of their educational and historical value. As for fun gameplay...its as much fun as the i got a flat tire on the interstate and get to change it on a small shoulder with drop off or the my car just stopped running and i dont know why during rush hour traffic in downtown Atlanta.
