I have a love/hate with the molded plastic, for whatever reason the points are grouped in twos (I think) so it's easy to bump or move your score piece. We still use them but don't use the extra board pieces.
*edit: After looking, it's probably just that I didn't want to remove the plastic insert. If you remove that, everything should fit easily.
