I did the same as you, but I complained through the Support page. So, they refunded my two-plus months of subscription. Here's a portion of the email they sent me:
"...we have automatically issued a prorated refund of 15.48 USD for the unused period of your Grammarly Premium subscription and deactivated it."

Is there a similar browser extension that allows you to use it in a similar manner but talks to the OpenAI API? I suppose it would be cheaper.
Does Grammarly use its own LLM?

this does different things than chatgpt. and sometimes it corrects and simplifies text generated by chatgpt. it also warns you which part looks like AI generated text (if that's important to you).
