I've been watching the price this season and I have wanted to get gen5 since they came out 2 years ago. The price should keep going down but this is the best deal I've seen on 4tb gen5 NVME

Hey, thanks for sharing. Looks like your link got cut off though. Would you mind updating your post with the full link? I looked it up for you https://www.newegg.com/team-group...6820985211

Not sure why it's not working for you maybe admin fixed it. I was going to buy this last but needed a payment to clear. Luck saved me $30. Missed the last sale and almost jumped for $370 last night. 2tb is way smaller at these speeds, just saying

I have a similar NVMe 4TB drive that I added to a new Win11PC that I use exclusively for storing music files. Ever since I've been using the drive, the playing of HD music (24bit, 96/192khz) from the drive is laggy, and it frequently lags just scrolling through the files/directories. Typically, music will play 4-5 seconds, then music will stop/pause/cutout for 1-2 seconds before resuming playing, almost like it's buffering or something, no matter the music player used (though mostly Foobar). Regular 16bit mp3 and FLAC play fine. Brand new Win11 desktop, so no obvious issues there. I've scoured google for some insight into the issue, but no luck.
What do you think, did I not configure something correctly when I installed the new SSD? Surely a MVNe drive has the read speed to play HD FLAC files, right?

I wonder if your temp is spiking. Have you tried fresh install of Win11? I get the new 4tb gen5 drive Wednesday, I also have Thermalright HR10 2280 PRO on the way. I'm thinking of cloning my old gen4 c drive. I'll test high quality music and try to remember to post if I'm having the issue or not. I have a gigabyte 690z Auros mobo ddr5 with a 12900k. What is your chipset if you don't mind sharing?
Picked one of these up and it just refuses to work in Gen 5 x 4 as a bootable drive. I have tried everything from different bios (MSI Carbon X870E) to verifying the FW is current on the drive itself. On my second PC, Gen 4, its discoverable and I could use it as a secondary. What's interesting is both BIOS clearly see it. Both machines allow the OS to be installed. On the Gen 5 machine, it will not boot to Windows at any PCIe Gen.
It's also worth mentioning this is the HOTTEST I have ever seen a NVME get and these can get cooking. It's using an InnoGrit controller vs a Phison and I had concerns off the bat but have had great luck with T-Force memory hitting really high stable OC speeds.
I couldn't find anything on this before buying so sharing this here. I would avoid. Worked on combos for several hours to spin this up.
