FWIW I hate this printer. Ink constantly dries out and printheads get glitchy if you don't use it every week. Then you have to do the cleaning cycle a bunch of times. Which is a shame because the higher end ET-8550 I have that inspired me to get this one as a little upstairs office printer is amazing.
I've had mine for about 2 years just with casual printing, don't print nearly as much anymore and have not dried up at all the color ink is essentially full and the black is around 80%. You can print so much with these compared to traditional ink cartridges it's insane really

If I go back to recent history of this on SD, the best one was from Costco for the same price. The Costco deal included an extra black ink bottle and better warranty.

Still a pretty decent deal though. I ordered one because mine broke a couple of weeks ago. It lasted about 2 years.

Does this dry up if we don't use often!? If so, what are good laser color printers with affordable cartridges? TIA

Brother. We have two and they are awesome, totally compatible with cheap third partner toners.

Brother or Canon. I have had both brand MFCs. I can go months without printing anything, but then I need to print 50 color pages in a week. Laser is absolutely the way to go if that is your use case. Both have inexpensive third-party toner cartridges.

All of a sudden mine started printing color photos very distorted, like some kind of sepia filter. This is was on the original ink. I watched a YouTube video that stated it's a known issue. Before that it worked great. Now we use it for BW and simple color documents and send photo prints to Walgreens.
