Bought this machine over the summer, I love it. I was coming from an Intel MBA and the speed of the Apple Silicon and the fanless design are just such a huge improvement for anyone coming from the Intels.

No. Get an external drive. That's how I store all my photos too. You can have your photo library on an external drive.

That's mostly what takes up most people's hard drive space now a days. Photos and videos.

And for $200, you can get 2 TB

return policy is only 90 days on macbooks. I'm not sure I'd call that "amazing."

Just pulled the trigger on this and instantly got FOMO on the 24GB version. Hoping this will fit the bill for my use case- which doesn't include video editing, gaming, etc.

I took your advice and found an awesome 2TB hard drive from Costco for $110. Sandisk model SDSSDE52-2TOO-AC46

yes, Costco's price already includes 2yrs, and I'm fine with just that. Of course you can still add applecare on top of it for the 3rd year as an addon even at Costco.
