The lifetime warranty is one of the main draws to this brand. My wife and I have used them for a few years now and there has never been an issue with getting them repaired or replaced completely.

Been able to use my bigger carry on for most of my travels.
No problems with domestic at all. Some international carriers can be a little bit more picky.

I grabbed these when they offered half off or more during the pandemic and have been using it since. Customer service was great when I had to replace the compression strap inside

I know this is a well regarded brand, but if I travel only 1-2 times domestically a year, am I better off with some of the cheaper options such as Samsonite?

yup. bought my hard-sided carry-on during the COVID-quarantine-wanderlust-period approx 3 years ago and have used it on over 50+ road trips, domestic, and international air travel, including island hopping in the South Pacific on small propeller planes, a few boat rides, rolled over dirt roads, pebbles, countless sidewalk curbs. the "carry-on" size is compliant with a whole slew of airlines which they list on their website. downside is I constantly want to upgrade when they drop new colorways but feel bad because my current one is still perfectly functional. 😭 I've gifted these to family members and usually get squeals from the younger adults (due to the trendy IG following). time to stock up again for christmas!

Pretty painless.
I shot out an email to them online.. filled out the info and they got back to me with options of replacing the entire carry on or waiting for a repair kit.

Since I had a limited edition color, I opted to be put on a waitlist for a repair kit (the strap wasn't affecting its usage too much). It was a lengthy wait though at the time as months passed and I forgot about it until an email popped in my inbox one day. But that was pretty much it.

Depends on what ur budget, some samonite is good, also another brand is travelpro. Away brand is good, but I do feel they are overpriced. I fly two to three times a month, I use the top end travelpro carryon.

I've seen Samsonite omni carryon for 60-80 cheaper considering this discount for the Away. Not sure what makes the Away worth the 60-80, maybe the lifetime warranty. idk if it matters but I'm in the market for both a carry on and large checked bag, though they both will be used sparsely.

have had mine for 4 years now and i love my away carry on. i previously used a samsonite hard case carry on for years and liked it a lot but between the two, my away luggage is my now preferred carry on whenever i decide to travel. i have the bigger carry on, and it fits all the airlines and various planes i've flown so far. it's no big deal on the bigger planes' overhead bins, but on the smaller planes you'll need to board early to get that overhead bin space first (still fits overhead bin but it takes up so much space because of how it'll need to be oriented) or risk check-in so keep that in mind with the bigger carry on sizes.

but 100% would recommend, and in fact i think i might get myself a large one this year as an early xmas gift to myself

I have the bigger carry-on and a 28 inch away set. Very durable luggage's and wheels are smooth. Do not get the white color though, it will get scuffed up and look horrible if you ever have to check it in.
