No reason to get the S90C when the S90D is a newer and better TV!
If one is $1300 and the other is $1000, then there might be three hundred reasons to opt for s90c.
is there a 30% price difference worth of upgrade between C and D?

Well, when there is an additional $140 off, plus $189 CB on the D, that puts the D at $29 cheaper than the C, so I'm seeing even less reasons to stick with the C.

I posted the math above a few times. Difference is around $71-89 between C and D. D is newer, rated better and is brighter. For me that is worth paying the difference. Also D is very readily available while C is starting to be out of stock most places.

Buy the LG or Sony. I had two separate customers units die on them last week. Google the S90D and you will see all the issues with these Samsungs. . .

Highly reccomend getting the warranty over the 10% discount. Had an issue with the S95B after a couple years but with the extra warranty I had no issues getting a refund (since they were no longer selling the TV).

Mine is through .gov. I assume they're all the same.
No. EDU/EPP discounts are not the same as military/first responder/etc.

I had to use my intern's Email to get the EDU discount.

I regretted a lot when S90C was OOS. But I'm glad that I found this. Just ordered one! Thank everyone for the info!
You know the S90C is $999 at Costco with a 5 year all-state warranty?

However the S90D is a better buy IMHO.

Curious. I also have 2nd account that is .edu and it receives the same discounts as the .gov. Never has one received a better discount than the other. (Though I assume their EPP would be better than what the public receives)

S90C has an inbuilt ATSC 3.0 tuner. One has to compare specs a samsung's web site to find the difference.

I returned an unopened S90D and got S90C

You need to watch 4K local transmission to believe it!

As per rtings the pre calibration is actually better for S90C and for S90D there are some clipping because of brightness. Not sure if it's worth the additional 100 bucks approx as someone mentioned below even with all the discounts. Unless you are expert enough to tweak the S90D to get the same post calibration. Hmmm..

S90C
"The TV has superb pre-calibration SDR accuracy. It's a bit bright for a moderately-lit room, but the white balance and color accuracy are fantastic, with no noticeable issues. The color temperature is also nearly perfect, so this TV barely requires any calibration to look great overall."

S90D
"The Samsung S90D has excellent pre-calibration SDR accuracy. Gamma is very close to the 2.2 target, but everything is a bit brighter than it's supposed to be, and the white balance is excellent, with blues being only slightly overrepresented. The color temperature is excellent and is only a bit cooler than our target of 6500K. Colors are very accurate across the board, but cyans do lean towards blue."

Certain credit cards extends warranty by an additional year once the card is used for the purchase. That might be worth looking at if you decide to take the 10% off.
