I've had this for about 5 months now. The picture/video quality isn't nearly as good as the Nest Doorbell that I had, but given that I paid less for this than a year of Nest monitoring, it's good enough and the tradeoff is well worth it.

I just returned this doorbell. It consistently lost connection and couldn't see live view most of the time.

Have this camera. I have had no issues good camera for those that don't want to pay for cloud service unless you buy the Reolink cloud which is optional. I just point the footage to my local nvr

Works great but hasn't it been like 50 bucks on Woot regularly for months? Granted woot will eventually run out, but I don't know that this is that much of a deal.

You're right. So $17 for a return policy. So people can test it out.

Pretty sure return shipping to Woot isn't going to be any more than that. They accept returns on most items unless specifically noted, just they charge return shipping for "didn't like it" type returns.

Yes, exactly. It goes on sale on Woot often at $51, so I'm surprised it went front page at this price. The real deal is on the white version which has a 3:4 aspect ratio (instead of 4:3 on the back one), and so has better vertical view and package detection. That one doesn't often go on sale.

I bought the black version from woot at last week's sale and it arrives today. But I'll be refusing that package, cause I bought the white version instead from Amazon. Here's the link to that one -

That's saying a lot because I have the current wired nest doorbell camera and the video quality is garbage. It's only 720p.

All doorbell cameras have garbage video quality, but I have read that this Reolink has the best garbage video quality.

Just imagine the market share a company could get if they made just 1 doorbell camera with a decent image sensor.

Anyhow, I have this wired into the existing Cat3 wiring that was run to the original doorbell button. They ran all 4 pairs but only used 1 for the switch. I put an RJ45 connector on the end and terminated the other end at my PoE switch, and I was up and running.

A quick question.
For video doorbell, should I buy a battery or wired one? My home currently has old normal wired chime model. Thanks.

You will need to check how powerful the transformer is for your doorbell. That will tell you if it will be able to power the new wired doorbell. Always buy the wired doorbell if you can.

You can always upgrade your transformer for about $20.

I have similar wire running to my current doorbell; If I crimp RJ45 connector to it then I also do the same thing to the other end which is currently in the transformer. Did you do like that? Then do you also run RJ45 from your transformer to router? Because that is kind of bummer for me as these two are across the house.
Any details are much appreciated, or if you have any pointers like website or youtube video that can also help. I already searched youtube and I could not find what I am looking for, but going to search further Smilie
