None of the processors that you mentioned have 12 cores and 24 processing threads. Your arguement is moot.

I was validating what AMD said. They said: The world's best gaming desktop processor, with 12 cores and 24 processing threads.

People need to pay attention.

1. This is/was the best gaming processor with 12c/24t at the time and probably stil is. Other processors can be faster, but they don't match c/t counts.
2. The page and quote about the performance was from November 5, 2020. It pretty much was the best cpu a the time. All these other comments about x3d cpus being "better", may be true, but they werent at thing until 2022 (2 years after the 5900 released)....

Its a weird one, if going two ccds you may as well go 16 not 12.

I had two of these processors go bad. First one was under warranty, second one two months out. In decades of dealing with computers, the only time I have had processors go bad.

planning my first AMD build. Is there an easy way of looking at the model number "e.g., Ryzen 5,7,9" to determine if it is socket AM4 or AM5? Number threads, cores?
