For the life of me, I cannot understand how Roku thinks it's OK to put out hardware with 100 Mbps Ethernet in 2024. 100 Base-T is a nearly 30 year old standard, at this point.

Worthwhile upgrade from Ultra 2017. Even on a 1080p tv without HDR, visual crispness, colors, and FPS are significantly enhanced with this model. Dolby Atmos comes through to a soundbar or receiver with no problem. This Roku doesn't have the 3.5mm jack on the remote, but, you can pair your old remote with the 3.5mm jack to the new Roku to use when needed. I have both the old and new remote paired and just pick up the one I want, and it recognizes which I have. Usually I am picking up the new backlit remote, an excellent feature in of itself. Definitely worthwhle if you like the Roku interface and have an older Roku. Also does not get hot like my older Ultra.
Ultra LT has the same "puck" specs as the previous Ultra, just a different remote. Previous Ultra and the Ultra LT are code name Benjamin. Newest Ultra is code name Brewster.
Is there really that much difference from the Ultra LT that WM has for $34?
Yeah I know the remote is better, backlit and rechargeable.
I'll put it this way - I have a 6 year old ultra and it's only starting to slow down now. If you're in the market for a lighter one like the stick, the LT is a worthwhile upgrade at the price for better performance. If this is to be your primary streaming device for several years, then the new Ultra is the one you want to keep for a long while without compromise.

And how exactly would upgrading this help? Streaming in 4k is less than 40mbps….so who cares

Thanks, so in other words LT probably good enough for most people 😉. I went ahead and got one to upgrade an older 1080p stick.

in addition to the remote differences, the big difference between the walmart Ultra LT and the regular Ultra, is the lack of a USB port on the LT. Regular Ultra has a USB port on the unit to play media from.
