I'm genuinely curious what would be bad about it being from china. I'm assuming it's pesticides used with the intention to help the farmer's yield. And if it is about those pesticides, don't you feel better that garlic's bulb is underground and I assume they have to wash it before processing it into granuals.
What I'm trying to convey is there is not a farmer in China that's elaborate scheme is to poison people in other countries.

Why am I getting a starting price of $15.50? After discounts, it's about $12 so not really a discount at all

The problem is that there may not be a farmer in China.

Chinese manufacturers have been known to add not safe for human consumption ingredients as well as just straight up make a fake food product.
