It has 2 ram slots 8gb and one empty so you can add 8/16/32 but some HP models has 4gb x 2 = total 8gb so it has to dump one of them if it needs more ram.
intel 12th gen cpu is much better than 11th one but 13th didn't improve much so still 12th one is good value.
It has 2 x 10gb usb3(A) but many entry laptops have only 5gb speed usb3. It doesn't have usb-c port but there is few $ usb-a to usb-c converter. ( that case it can not display out)
to me the biggest issue is it does not have 4k display out either by hdmi (only 1080p out ) or no usb-c port.
I had one 1 year old verion which is the same as this but old one had intel 201 wifi module but this new one has RTL8821ce.
If you want to power with usb-c port instead of DC jack you can buy usb-c to DC 4.5mm adapter which is less than $10
