I've been eyeing on the sabrent ones with fan, waiting for it to go on sale. Are the fans necessary? I want to put some WD Purple for my frigate storage

Been running the Sabrent with 4x 18-20TB drives in it , turned on 24/7, no heating issues whatsoever [after 6 months of use].

Ah yeah I don't think it has a fan. But its good to know that maybe fans aren't really necessary

Two bay docks seem to go for $19 regularly, so not sure the use case for paying a premium for a four bay over two-two bay docks.
