Amazon limited the promotion to the first 2 million "thank you"s, a number they exceeded by mid December last year. You can be pretty sure Amazon will pay out the same amount to the drivers with or without your participation. But I don't see this promotion actually updated for 2024 yet. I am not sure that it is active at all right now.

If I had the same driver each time I would participate. But some drivers are just awful, I had one last week leave a package in the rain instead of walking an extra 3 steps and putting it under a covered porch.

On the opposite end, I have a different driver put packages where they are protected from the elements. She even rings the doorbell.

The way this amazon thing works, I can't direct the tip towards the "good" driver.

At the holidays, I tip the good driver myself to say thanks.

eh. Amazon drivers here dump all the packages in the middle of the package room (if we didn't have a pkg room they'd have to deliver to individual Apts over 25 floors.) so, no, someone else can thank drivers this year.

I really liked this program the last time I saw this come around. We have some folks that seem to be pretty regular for our packages and I can't think of the last time we had somebody that wasn't super nice (we try to rush to the door when a package is getting delivered). We try to thank anybody that's making a delivery cause it's just a nice thing to do. Hopefully little tips like this will help their holidays go a tiny bit better too

Yes you do control who gets the tip. They specifically state that's the last driver to bring your package. Only way its questionable is if, for whatever reason, you get 2 or more deliveries in a day and picked both up at the same time AND they were delivered by different people. The tip still goes to the last driver, but you don't know which package was delivered first versus second. (although you could look at your security cam footage, if available). So no hiding behind that excuse.

So how do we know if it worked? All Alexa said is that she'd share the feedback with my driver.

As a shareholder, is this akin to punching myself?
