FYI : This comes with Fire TV . You will definitely need external streamer as it very slow.

I mean, $400 for a 75 inch TV is pretty cheap, 60hz isn't really a deal breaker given that it's obviously a budget/lower end TV. I believe the qm751g is still like $1000 for the 75", which is the next step up from this.

Just picked up one in Sterling, VA today. $435 with the extra 2 years warranty (5 total). Thanks OP! The Leesburg, VA one had shown 4 but we watched the last one leave the store this morning. They saw Sterling had 6 and we had a nice rep agree to pull one for us so it was waiting when we got there. By then there was just 1 left. Head TV Rep for the store made us feel better saying it's easily the best deal in the store! Also picked up the Sony soundbar at Black Friday price of $150 that a previous poster mentioned.

Anyone have tips on ideal picture settings for this bad boy? I saw the ones below; any others?

I hope to get to set this tv up tomorrow. Originally thought I'd wait until after Thanksgiving, but I'd hate to find out it's defective after it's too late to pick up other black friday deals.

Also, how is the native sound? Is a soundbar needed for someone who's not looking for cinema sound at home, but you want to hear clearly?
Everything is super bright out if the box.
This is what I use for football games.

You would have to adjust according to how bright your room is and your taste. I like it a little darker than brighter.

You can always hit RESET to bring everything back if you don't like it.

Pic mode MOVIE
Backlight. 40
Contrast. 43
Brightness 0
Color. 0
Tint. 0
Sharpness. 3

You can also play with ADVANCED SETTINGS if you like.

Make small changes and wait a day to see if you're happy with them until you get it the way you like it.

If you like a lot of bass then you'll need a sound bar. It has a bass speaker in the back of the set but it's not that great

Cool, I'll try this. We don't watch sports, mostly just regular tv (but some have action, and many have very dark scenes. Will be interesting to see if this improves viewing for the dark scenes many shows have).

With those settings blacks are real black. You might want to increase the backlight or brightness if it's too dark for you.

Just use my settings as a guide

Just don't expect it to look like a 1300 Sony

Do you purchase the $35 extended warranty during checkout or online?

i bought the floor model (last one) on Thursday for $300. Added the $35 extended warranty just for security, but based on my prior TCLs, I don't think I'll need it.

I checked a store close by but the nearest location with the TV was 1 hour away. I ended up with the display model for $300.

You have until 90 days to buy the extra warranty. You can buy it on the Costco website.

Just make sure you keep your receipts

I just asked for it at checkout and they scanned the 34.99 barcode they keep at the register and then the receipt says thanks for purchasing the Allstate warranty.

Drove 30 minutes out of state to get one since my local warehouse was out of stock. $399 and added the extra 2 year warranty for $34 for a maximum of 5 years. This is replacing a 9 year old 65" Samsung in our master bedroom. I watch TV in the bedroom for maybe an hour a night. Can't beat this deal.

did they seem to have a lot left? How's the brightness? I'm sure my 79UB9800 will crap out at some point, might as well get this for a backup
I bought the TV 3 weeks ago. Features
  • 600 nits of brightness. This is 50% more than the average midrange TV (400 nits / q651g) and only 100 nits less than the QM7.
  • Local dimming with 128 zones. Dimming works very well - very little haloing on outer space scenes.
  • Very high (8000:1, 9000:1) native contrast. Local dimming is almost not needed!
  • QLED - quantum dots, more vibrant colors, higher color gamut, brighter, more energy efficient.
  • 75 inches - this TV is THREEE LEVELS UP from the S4 series people have been touting, S4xx, S5xx, Q651x, Q681g/Q691f, QM7, QM8
  • Similar TVs are $650 onsale much dimmer Hisense U6N - http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u6-u6n or $1600 Samsung Q80D http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/...q80dd-qled with more gaming features.
Now the downsides
  • FireTV OS blows. It will show you a noise-making commercial when you turn the TV on if you don't immediately scroll down 1 row with the remote.
  • AppleTV player stutters. Yes it stutters once every 60 seconds, mostly on sound. I play AppleTV videos through the Amazon Prime player which does not stutter.
  • AppleTV + AmazonTV/Prime. Yesterday it wouldn't play a video on either player, said i should talk to amazon support. Video played just fine on my phone.
  • The Remote often lags like crazy. If you scroll right 5 icons by the time it hits 4 you are getting impatient and you hit the right button again and end up with 6 right-scrolls. Then you scroll left 1 icon and nothing happens so you hit left again and it goes 2 to the left, so you've missed the target twice.
  • Out of the box the Color is too vivid (-5 on color setting) and facial tones are too red (+5 towards green on Tint). Can only adjust colors while playing a video, not in OS.
  • Get a RokuStick, that will make the TV perfect.

I set mine up in the basement. Pretty happy with the picture and quality - purchased a 4k fire stick as others have recommended. Just need to fix volume not working through the new 4k remote, but otherwise happy with the purchase.

Last display sold at $300 (Lewisville, TX). Saw it being picked by a couple without box.
