Price reflects 10% discount for edu/military. Chase has 5% cashback with Paypal + 3% popular cashback site. Hot? Warm? I'll bite. Was waiting for this to finish my mac mini.

Try iFixit.com. They usually have good tutorials. https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Mac_Mini

It doesnt go in, needs an enclosure. The new M4 has a modular ssd but the connector is proprietary. Reminds me of the early 2010's when people needed an adapter to fit regular ssd inside an apple computer. I still have a macbook pro from 2015 rocking a regular pcie3.0x4 instead of the original apple one.

no adapter available for M4 yet though.

You can't put this inside the mac mini as the mac mini uses bare nand chips. The only way you can upgrade the SSD storage on a mac is by physically desoldering the nand chips and soldering on bare BGA nand chips. It is a high skill level upgrade that requires pretty specialized equipment. I assume they are talking about using this in an external enclosure and connecting using thunderbolt.

$180 after edu and CB. I bought two. We knew the artificial price hikes were coming so then was the time to buy. Still hasn't fully recovered, clearly.
