not to take anything away from this deal, i find the samsung edu store works sometimes and doesn't work sometimes... a bit frustrating that's all.
I had the same thing... Eventually the discount stopped working completely... Guessing that school came off the grid at some point

Price reflects 10% discount for edu/military. Chase has 5% cashback with Paypal + 3% popular cashback site. Hot? Warm? I'll bite. Was waiting for this to finish my mac mini.
When you say Mac mini, are you planning on de-soldering the SSD, etc? Has the 990 proven to work in there already? I got a Mac mini thinking of replacing the SSD but I thought I'd have to wait a bit longer

The 990 Pro is up there in terms of higher tier SSD's. You could save $ getting a cheaper mid-range brand. Speed between cheaper SSD's isnt really noticeable in real world use. How ever quality of these 990s is worth the premium imo.

So short answer, yes.

$180 after edu and CB. I bought two. We knew the artificial price hikes were coming so then was the time to buy. Still hasn't fully recovered, clearly.
I bought a couple 2TB ones at $100 each for 2 computers. I thought I wouldn't need 4TB; now I wish I had bought the 4TB ones. But the 2TB should last me a couple more years.

Now to decide which to keep: this, or the T-Group Gen5x4 via NewEgg (~$60 diff but, but, the SPEED)
How do you plan to use the full advertised speed of 12500/11000 MB/s . Are you building the latest PC & specs?
