I just got the same SSD for $170 from samsung.com using the edu discount and the code CYOD2024EPP75.
where did that code come from? just tried it, not working for me... wondering if maybe it's a one-time-use code and I need a unique one
I've had mine for a year. They came with the latest firmware out of the box even back then. No drive health issues this entire year. That was a problem very early in its life cycle and right before the 4tb versions released so the 4's came with update.

Been looking for a 4TB M.2 for primary drive, willing to spend a little extra money for high quality, is this the deal I've been waiting for?

Will this work well without heatsink? I don't think it will fit in my ASUS ROG x16 2022.

This is a good deal, assuming you don't have employee, military or education discounts. It wouldn't hurt to wait until cyber Monday just to make sure there isn't a better deal though.

I bought 3 of these last Black Friday for 280 each. That was a good deal then. I was expecting a bigger drop in price a year later, 200 seems about right, but we are in an inflation economy so it is what it is. Still good deal.

I am Tempted to buy another now for my Asus Ally X

It has been 200 before in the past. I've been waiting too but heard reports of accelerated wear. Samsung released a firmware but I don't know if that affects the drive health percentage reporting specifically or the actual cell health.

Other than the price, this made me more willing to purchase. Thanks!

best buy has it for the same price :

well not really good price, i usually check on the refurb one's as they go as low at 180, but it's a waiting game.

just remember, these do get hot and will throttle when in heavy use.

At least $70 more than it should be going by past deals. $240-$250 was the max I ever paid for a Samsung 4TB M.2, and these things really should be less now.

Got it from someone else in the other thread. For most people it is working but there were a few others who were saying that it didn't not work for them.

Edit: One person said that you need a valid ID.me account for the code to work. It may be true since I think I registered my account from there.

This is the best drive you can get for your PS5 and it runs even faster in the PS5 PRO.
