What is the use of m.2 in NAS and PCI slots?

Is it to use a 10 Gbit PCI card and send files you edit in video editing software to the m.2 ?

M.2 slots so you can install SSD cache which improves performance. Or can also use it as another storage pool.

The PCI slots are for network port upgrades or adding more M.2 slots, as well as adding a wifi card if you want to use it wireless, so there are options.

On Newegg for 209 before tax. It was a coupon code on the product page it automatically gave me the option to apply. Could be targeted or you may need to be logged into an account. I hate newegg's website. I can't even get a real invoice to confirm what the coupon code was 😔...

Bought this one for the last sale to replace my DS212J and I am very happy with it. Used as a network share and PXE backup.

Can confirm that the PCIE slot works to upgrade to 10GBe with an Mellanox-3X SFP port. I am also using the m.2 slots for an SSD cache.

Worth it imo, i plan to upgrade the ram next.
