thats because you don't understand how these work.

For the drying cycle, they effectively use both sides of an air conditioner to heat to dry and then cool to condense the moisture out of the clothes. So, there is nothing to vent.

Doesn't matter if they are longer when they are best run overnight. or while at work. When have separate devices you have to be present to move them. These things do it all while you are sleep or at work. Its smarter to do it later in the night so that way when you wake up its ready to go and you are charged less money for not having to use during peak hours.

Obviously you don't understand it either as this unit does not use a heat pump.

strangely enough, the much bigger ventless combo is cheaper, and includes a heat pump. I guess the smaller one is only useful in a RV.

This brand is awful. I bought a washer from them, it was on sale and I needed one cheap and right away. The tub ended up breaking after 15 months just after their warranty was up. It flooded my basement and destroyed it. I also bought an extended warranty and they refused to fix, paid out max amount which was the warranty costs, so I was out a washer. It was an absolute f***ing nightmare. It cost me 10 times the washer price in repairs.

I think that's only a dryer and not a combo?

About the same price for what I paid for on my Samsung Bespoke model (heatpump) I received in exchange for my review, I can say that it's a decent price. It will significantly reduce your electric bill and eventually pay for itself, especially considering the constant rate hikes under Duke Energy here in Florida.

Had to google more on what the difference between this dryer and heat pump ones...

The Midea washer-dryer combo employs a ventless drying system that does not rely on a heat pump. Instead, it utilizes a condensation-based drying process, which is common among ventless dryers. Here's how it works:
  1. Air Heating and Circulation: The appliance heats air and circulates it through the drum, where it absorbs moisture from the wet clothes.
  2. Condensation: Instead of expelling the hot, moist air outside as traditional vented dryers do, the Midea combo uses a heat exchanger to cool the air. This cooling process causes the moisture in the air to condense into water.
  3. Moisture Removal: The condensed water is collected in a removable reservoir or drained directly through a hose into a plumbing system. This eliminates the need for external venting.
  4. Air Recirculation: The now-dry air is reheated and recirculated through the drum to continue drying the clothes until the cycle is complete.
This approach is energy-efficient and allows for flexible installation in spaces where venting isn't possible, such as apartments or small homes. However, it may take longer to dry clothes compared to traditional vented dryers because of its multistep process of heating, condensing, and reheating air.

The Midea washer-dryer combo also includes features like steam care, which helps reduce wrinkles and odors, and built-in sensors that stop the drying cycle when clothes are optimally dry, further enhancing efficiency and fabric care

Drying Technology
  • Midea: Uses condensation drying (ventless, but slower).
  • Samsung: Uses heat pump drying (faster, more energy-efficient, and gentler on clothes).
Capacity

  • Midea: 2.7–3.1 cu. ft. (small loads, great for compact spaces).
  • Samsung: 5.3 cu. ft. (handles larger loads, better for families).
Energy Efficiency

  • Midea: Energy-efficient but not as advanced as heat pump technology.
  • Samsung: Extremely efficient (ENERGY STAR-certified).
Drying Speed

  • Midea: Longer drying times due to condensation process.
  • Samsung: Faster drying with heat pump; Super Speed cycle washes & dries in ~98 minutes.
Features

  • Midea: Steam care, overnight wash/dry, air fluff, 16 cycles (no smart features).
  • Samsung: AI OptiWash/Dry, SmartThings app control, Super Speed cycle, Flex Auto Dispense.
Noise Level

  • Midea: Standard operation noise.
  • Samsung: Quieter with VRT Plus technology.
Price Range

  • Midea: ~$1,000–$1,500 (budget-friendly).
  • Samsung: ~$1,899–$3,299 (premium pricing).
Which to Choose?

  • Go with Midea if you want an affordable, compact solution for small spaces or light laundry needs.
  • Pick Samsung Bespoke AI if you need advanced features, faster performance, larger capacity, and top-tier energy efficiency.

My samsung version takes an hour to wash and an hour to dry. I don't know any dryer that would finish a entire load in 15 minutes...

These are mostly used (and designed for) in apartments that have nowhere to vent. In Europe and South America these are very common to find in kitchens (yes kitchens) and in bathrooms with no exterior walls.

For example:

Running longer takes more electricity... Makes it more expensive to operate
