Just returned our gateway this am. After a big outage earlier this week, this AM we woke to no internet. Tmo pushed an update to our gateway and bricked it. Our billing cycle starts on the 20th. Today is the 21st, they said they will cancel it next bill cycle - $46.45/mo for a service that barely worked and now I owe an extra month for a service I can't even use. Before the outage and before they bricked our gateway, it was pretty rough to use it. We could see speeds in the 70mpbs range at most, but it would drop and doing a zoom call across it was not feasible.
Did this last year for a free 43" Fire TV and fought them for 6 months and never got the TV rebate I followed all rules on. Be careful
A 4 series 43" is more of the "current" model, while they still sell the 2 series for ~80$ less at 150$. Just a general idea on value / recency of what you are getting.

I'm assuming it's safer to wait until they mail out the check to cancel, instead of doing it right after it says approved correct?

I can't recall when my 60 day mark will be, probably around the 28th of this month, but I'll keep checking the status. Just trying to avoid an extra monthly payment for the internet.

Thanks for the update.

Very helpful! Thanks for posting the details. Please update, if you can, with the date you receive the prepaid card email.

Is it 60 days from
• ordering service,
• activating service, or
• submitting rebate?

Will do! The status changed exactly 60 days after the rebate submission date it seems. Now hopefully its just a couple days for it to come in the mail.

It's a virtual prepaid card, so I'm assuming they email a link to the card. But who knows? I set up paperless billing from the get-go and they've been snail mailing paper notices for every little thing.

Your submission date is the same as mine. I placed the order 3 days before. We're probably both already in the 3rd billing cycle. For me the 2nd bill was Jan 23-Feb 22. So next bill is about to come out and I don't think they prorate. Assuming they deliver card in the next couple of days, I'll owe for the 3rd bill that will end around Mar 23.

Hopefully we get these cards fast!

I am considering signing up. Can you please tell me which plan you have and how much the taxes/fees are per month? Thank you!

Rely Home Internet, $50 a month with "autopay" discount. No taxes/fees, but YMMV based on your state/local taxes. First month was $55 since they don't apply the "autopay" discount until month 2. Also, if you have Tmobile cell service I believe it can be as low as $35/mo.

Thanks! Yes, I have Tmobile cell service and live in CA - was just curious about state/local taxes. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the updates and info.

My 60 days should be on 3/1 so it should move to "approved" on that day. Hopefully the email with the link to the prepaid card comes in shortly after that for me as my bill is due on 3/13 and I want to cancel the home internet service before then so I don't have to pay for the extra month.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got hit with 3 months of billing. Sucks, maybe I can get a prorated refund for the last month? I didnt talk to them yet about the returning of the router.

Excellent! Thanks for the update. How does the "transfer fund" to transfer to bank work? Will that option be obvious when I receive my card? Or did it require some tricky maneuvering on your part to make that happen? Thanks!

When they send a link , it will be on top right with options to transfer funds . You can enter account and routing number . Money will show up in couple of days
