They did have a paper in the box for 12m individual membership. BB didn't have any code in receipt, they are telling check with manufacturer or return for refund. From Nintendo support it appears that the box comes pre init w/ intelligence that says you can link the acct to the game bundle you purchased (via popup), which then allows you to download the bundle. Looks like someone dropped the ball on this one.

After registered go to the icon the top right in eshop click on that and goes down find item go with console. Click that and you will find out MK8
