Kingston XS1000 for Value
Samsung T7 for Reliability & Value
Samsung T9 for Reliability and Performance
Crucial X10 Pro for Performance & Value

Kind of my rough recap of the current top picks.
I am generally a Samsung person, but given the current specs and prices I picked up the 2TB Crucial X10 Pro to try out to pair with my T7 instead of getting the T9.

If you consider all equal for reliability (might be using the same modules and/or controllers inside) go for the Kingston for the price unless you want/need the speed boost and then get the X10 Pro.

Also before these got good, buying your favorite NVMe SSD and an enclosure was always a valid solution.
I have a version of this drive (different storage configuration. From what I have read and tested myself, it is a decent drive at transferring files around 90-100gb or less. It tends to slow down when data transfers are larger than that. For me it's not an issue since my use case doesn't have a need to transfer files larger than 100gb in one sitting. Hope it helps.

Got it for $70 last year. That was a super price. It's very small (about the same size as a thumb drive) and great for a backpack .5"x1.25"x2.75".

You forgot one.

Sandisk for gifting to a frenemy.

Seem should not be a concern as speed goes, tesla only support USB3.0 if i recalled. so you would not get the USB3.2 Speed. Kingston quality is well.

Not as good as a high endurance SD, plus you don't have to worry about it bouncing around your glovebox
