This is a Thunderbolt monitor. For Thunderbolt 3/4 the limit is 40 Gbits per second, really 32.4 Gbits for DisplayPort 1.4 uncompressed.
5120 × 2880 (5K resolution) x 30 (bits per pixel) x 60 (hz) = 26,542,080,000 = 26.5 Gbit.
If you wanted to do 120 Hz, that would be 53 Gbit, which exceeds the limit of Thunderbolt 3/4.
It is likely you would need a Thunderbolt 5 version of this monitor, or a DisplayPort 2.0 version, in order to get 5K at much higher refresh rates.
Best 5K monitor for Mac and it's not even close.

This monitor has a special niche. 8K monitor, you are looking at the Dell for near $4K. 6K monitor, Dell $2,300, Apple $5K. Other 5K monitors can't match the quality- I just had to return a competing brand for being fuzzy and having a yellowish tint. I used to get headaches, blurry vision, and have eye fatigue at the end of the work day with other monitors. I bought the first Retina 5K iMac when it came out- all my eye issues went away, and it's all I've used ever since.

I could not have said it better myself. This is a super niche product for Mac. The same comments will come as always "it's only 60 hz!!" I have a 4K display at work but my ASD at home looks so much better.

I rather have 5K 60 Hz than 4K 240Hz on Mac

Perfect timing to pair this display with my new M4 Mac mini. I was initially eyeing the Apple Refurbished one, but it's $1359.
Good thing I waited until now for this deal on a brand new one!

I got this for content creation after being disappointed trying to get lower priced options. On this Apple Studio display, the color is perfect out of box without the need of that Spyder color contraption and software to fix other monitor color rendition.

Outside of video or photo editing, this is more like bling.

I've been waiting for it to drop back to this price but what's frustrating is that Best Buy doesn't have them in stock at ANY stores. Why can't Apple set the same price at the Apple Store so I can pick the damn thing up today and not have to wait for shipping for Best Buy or Amazon?!

Just as a heads up, asus has a 5k monitor for ~800 on b h. I personally am waiting for the BenQ PD2730S as it seems to support thunderbolt daisychaining.
