$40 for a 2.5" accessory? Leatherman has lost their got-damned minds.

I have enjoyed my Leatherman over the years for various things I never expected to use it for. That said this seems silly. Mostly because it's an extra piece you would have to remember to keep handy for extremely limited uses. Keeping a small 1/4" driver kit in your vehicle makes way more sense to me.

I agree the price is a bit high, but the crazy thing is while these were unavailable for all that time, I saw them being sold for upwards of $100-$150! It was insane.

Most Leatherman sheaths come with an elastic loop on the side of them specifically for holding extensions and this ratchet.

Got this to go with my bitbar. Hoping it will fit in the sheath like the non ratcheting extension that comes with it.

30% off for military. I'll stick with my Topeak ratchet that fits in the MUT pouch.

Here's one similar to Topeak for half the price.

Yeah, I hear you, this accessory adds significant bulk to a small and lightweight multitool. But I'm not sure if a smaller in-line ratchet (i.e. not a wrench) would be feasible. Have you found a smaller or less expensive alternative? I've been looking for one.

My proclamation was less about overall size than it was about overall perceived value.

It would undoubtedly be handy, but if'n I'm working on something where I'd need a driver to "ratchet", chances are I've moved beyond what I'm comfortable using multitool to work on anyways.

I've found aftermarket accessories that are widely available on places like Amazon are generally junk. After carrying a Leatherman for nearly 30 years, I'm only just now learning there's a healthy and thriving market for customizing your tool, but doing so tends to void your warranty. Which is a sizeable reason why I'm willing to pay Leatherman's exorbitant prices. And also why I haven't really gone down that particular rabbit hole.

Kinda went on a bit of a tangent/rant there, sorry. Short answer is "no". laugh out loud

I bought a Surge clone - Roktol - for $40. Received it today. Pretty impressed with the quality. While I appreciate Leatherman brand and it's legacy, the ratio of Value/price is poor.

The Leatherman value is equal parts Made in USA and Lifetime Warranty, that brand offers neither.

Yes, they are USA made but I'm pretty sure the warranty is 25yrs not Lifetime.

fair, not truly lifetime. 25 years (40 years if you register on their web site)... basically a lifetime compared to a 2-5 year warranty.

$36 is ridiculous. They want to see how stupid we are.
