I can never seem to find a straight answer to this in any reviews and a lot of the gameplay footage I've seen seems to carefully edit around this sort of thing.

What is the gameplay like on this game? More like Neir Automata or Zelda/Ys/God of War? Or put another way, is it a game that is based around hair trigger reflexes with a punishing difficulty or is it more casual?

I thought it was more like a souls game but easier?

So, for someone who's never played any of the Souls games and generally isn't big on Souls/Rogue-like/lite games that pride themselves on being difficult, would you recommend they even bother with this game?

Try out the free demo on the playstation store. I find it is a bit unforgiving since there is no shielding, only timed parries and dodges but the combat is really fluid and the devs enhanced the game very well for the ps5 pro.
