I've gotten at least 200 free upgrades to 4k so far! (Maybe 300?)
99% of the time the upgrade. When they don't is when they change studios, and the new studio gives the 4k upgrade the old one doesn't necessarily get it.
That said, I don't have any that have been upgraded to 4k that I didn't get the upgrade (at least not that I'm aware of).

I steam on Android shield tv so assuming I can play these on the apple tv app. Though don't expect anything on my pixel.

Because of the free 4k upgrade, and the fact that you can watch anything in your Apple library on any device, I'm ONLY buying from Apple if it's not MA.
