According to Scott's/Going, this is the all-time lowest price from the main Delta hubs to Australia, and they include a checked bag, carryon, and seat selection. All-in, that's about the equivalent normal cost of a coast-to-coast domestic flight with the add-ons. Airport codes ATL DTW MSP to BNE. Typically one stop outbound, two on return (some w overnight layovers, eg LAX)

Link goes to a sample itinerary from ATL in March, which is typically beautiful autumn weather (and Spring Break in most of the US). January is mid-summer and Brisbane is a primo location for east coast beaches or even a day's drive to the Great Barrier Reef. For real life!

This is a nice deal. It's a good time of year to go to Australia. And not a BE fare.

This deal is still live but not on Delta anymore. Now on American (per Google flights) for select dates.

Does anybody know what Visa requirements are to enter Australia as a tourist, and how much it may cost.
