Z-Wave is like it's own ecosystem, popular in home automation. Can setup things like for light to turn on if xyz enters after sunset or other things to run if it is someone else. If you just want a keypad, then yes there are many cheaper options out there.

I understand Z-Wave is its own wireless protocol that is an open standard that integrates into various hubs, including Home Assistant. However, there are more advanced door locks for a similar price that have more features.
