There is no protection from cold with the thin plastic construction. Buy a doghouse on offer up if you can not afford a new one that will give your animal some protection. If you are looking to be that cheap maybe a live pet tobrake care of isn't for you. What will you do when it is time for just routine vet visits let alone a emergency?

Has anyone found a deal similar to this with less ugly containers to keep indoors for storage? Just looking for something more neutral colored like white, beige, gray. Don't want transparent to show clutter.

You have touched on a good point. For anyone who purchased these containers pre-Covid, you will be sorely disappointed in what you are getting today vs the past

The plastic is thinner, and there are fewer structural ribs around the outer edges. For example, on Commander / Tough Boxes that WERE offered at both Office Depo/Max and Costco, say, in 2015, there are a total of (8) structural ribs under (1) overlap edge adjacent to the corner. Today's ones, whether they are the HDX or the Project Source or even Greenmade, will only have (6) structural ribs).

We are all seeing where they are saving cost, to meet the price points of these retailers. If the old design was maintained, these things would likely be $15'ish.
