AeroPress, Inc. via Amazon has for Prime Members: 10-Oz Aeropress Original Coffee Maker on sale for $29.76. Shipping is free.

Thanks to Slickdeals Staff Member redsolar for finding this deal.

Product Info:
  • The only press that combines agitation and pressure with micro-filtration so you can use finer ground coffee. Hot water is pushed through the grinds, quickly aerating and extracting only the purest, freshest flavors, while keeping grit and bitterness out of your coffee.
  • No more bitterness or grit. The patented 3 in 1 brew technology of the AeroPress Original Coffee maker eliminates bitterness and acidity and creates a smooth, rich, full bodied cup of coffee. Paper or metal micro-filters allow you to use finer ground coffee for a faster brew time and no grit (unlike the mesh filter of a French press). No more messy coffee grounds – clean-up takes seconds! Durable, shatterproof design, perfect for travel, camping & gifting.
  • Compact, durable, shatterproof and lightweight. Pack it in your bag and take it on the road. No more mediocre (at best) hotel or office coffee.
  • Easy to use and maintain and loved across the globe, we truly believe in our coffee press. But to be sure you do too, we offer a one year warranty.

The same 26% discount is for the medium size: $52 instead of $70.

I purchased the Original and then an XL. I make much better coffee with the XL. In my opinion, the Original just doesn't hold enough water to extract the best flavor.

The real ones know this was the price till couple of years ago before they raised the rates. Also, flow control should be the default option.

I got the XL. Honestly, I didn't notice much difference, but I'm no aficionado. I haven't really used it since.

You could try using less coffee in the standard size one if you feel it is under extracted. Also can do finer grind.

The design is to not fill it up all the way. Brew a concentrated solution and then add dilute water afterwards. Aka the bypass method, the one Alan Adler (inventor) instructs us to use.

One could make a couple servings with the original. Try adjusting your grind size and brew time, and perhaps use less water as suggested.

Everybody and their mother has their own brew method and recipe, regardless of their prestige in the coffee community.

IMO everyone should do themselves a favor and do a blind test against everything and see just how good your palate is. I can almost guarantee most won't notice the difference between grind size, brew style and method when comparing top reliable techniques. The margin of utility is tiny unless you're a professional taste tester. Most aren't after the additional 5% flavor for double the effort.

I wanna try it but $30 bucks for plastic ! License to print money.
It probably cost less than $5 to manufacture BUT since they have a patent on the design. They can charge what they want...
There are knocks on Ali Express but I've heard they not worth the trouble.
As opposed to Apple charging $200 for 256GB? That costs them max $4. Everything is relative.
