You need to keep Cricket service for 6 consecutive months, then Cricket will unlock it

For anyone who wants it actually unlocked at some point, it will cost you $100 + $120 + $120, which includes 6 months of cricket service. Two months of unlimited and four months of the $30 5gb plan.

Not bad at all if you need a decent new phone + plan. Cricket is also rock-solid as far as quality of service is concerned.

If you are on Cricket already, you can get it cheaper, because they only require 1 month when adding a new line.
I don't know about the activation, but you can just insert your current sim card and it will work.
You can still unlock the phone, just insert your current sim and keep service for 6 months, after that, you can contact Cricket and they will give you the unlock code, I have done it a few times.

I just signed up with cricket for this deal. Can I use another carries esim once I get the phone or do I have to wait until it's unlocked after the 60 days?
You need 6 consecutive months of Cricket service with the same phone and same sim to qualify for unlock.

When you say you "canceled the line the next day after you activated it", did they take away the credit and charged you for it?
Yes, I cancelled the next day and the credit disappeared from my account. I was asked if I wanted to cancel on the next billing cycle, I said no, but I'm not sure if I had chosen that option the credit would have been applied to that month instead of losing it.

From what I've gathered after reading this comment: The phrasing of the deal, as well as the "terms and restrictions" on the phone page is different for "New" and "Existing" customer types. In your case (as well as mine, since I added a 6th line for $60 and plan to cancel it), it doesn't say anything about having to pay for the 2nd month. I think that's just for new customers.
So, how did it go with cancelling the additional line when you got your phone? Did you cancel before 1 month?

It went well and as expected.
I had to activate the new line by putting the new sim in this new phone.
After a day or so, I chatted with customer service and told them to cancel the new line (they asked if I wanted to cancel it right now or at the start of the next billing cycle and I said right now). Only had to pay $99.99 + $60 and that was it.

So....the steps are, after I receive the phone:
  1. Activate the line
  2. Wait a day
  3. Cancel the line RIGHT NOW either online chat or call them.
Sound about right?
Thanks!

Thanks!I just placed the order. The new line actually came out to $40 instead of $60 with 5th line discount. So total was $149.24 with taxes fees. Now do I have to activate the phone when it gets here in order to cancel line?
I got unlocked version from Samsung EPP and I am happy (my 2 week experience). Good price from Cricket

Yup. Activate the line with the new phone, and cancel it anytime before the end of the current billing cycle. Good luck!

So if you buy the phone you pay $99 for the phone + tax & $120 for 2 months of Cricket service. So around $228 charged to your Credit Card when you place the order, correct?
Where is the $60 discount/credit coming from?

The razr 2024 is the same price, maybe a better deal?
