Not bad at all if you need a decent new phone + plan. Cricket is also rock-solid as far as quality of service is concerned.
I don't know about the activation, but you can just insert your current sim card and it will work.
You can still unlock the phone, just insert your current sim and keep service for 6 months, after that, you can contact Cricket and they will give you the unlock code, I have done it a few times.

Cricket does not charge taxes and fees on the service
So your total cost to get an unlocked S24FE would be
60x2+30x4=240 + 99= 339+sales taxes on 99
I'm paying 25/month on Visible so the extra costs would be
339-(25x6)= 189+ taxes ~ roughly 197 for this phone unlocked after 6 months.
Samsung was offering 200 off without trade-in for this phone:
With EPP I can get it for total of 473.58 including taxes.
If I play it right and need this phone about $276 can be saved.
Not a bad deal for $197 with some trade-in value in the future.
That is said, there is a trade-off of not having unlimited data and mobile hotspot for 4 months.
For the amount of savings though I would be willing to bear with it.
I had a similar deal with Google Fi before. Was able to get S20 for $300 when the list price was 600..But now Google is not playing this game any more and changed the discount to monthly credits in 24 months...

Hi, its been ages since I did a phone deal and am out of the loop. My spouse has a an old iphone on Cricket. Looking to get 2 new phones for my kids but on a cheap plan like the T-mobile $15 plan or any Hello $10 prepaid that have unlimited talk and text. Will this phone work with Tmobile or Hello Mobile after it is unlocked?
I'm not sure I understand how to get it cheaper if we have one line already on cricket.
Is this deal better than the Verizon 4 free iphone pro 15 deal with 36 month contract at $30/month plus taxes? I'm not sure how much the taxes will add up to.
Thanks!

Now to get the phone cheaper you need to add a line to your current Cricket account, they require only 1 month of service, plus they will give you a discount on the plan.
Now about the verizon deal, I don't like contracts, I prefer to buy phones straight out, but I think they will require a more expensive plan, plus they may add some fees and services which may increase monthly payment considerabily.

My spouse has the $30 plan and is on a very old (but still working) iphone 6. Can I add 2 lines to that but pay the $60 for 2 months on the 2 new phone lines?
So we end up paying $219 each for the 2 new lines. Do we still have to pay $60x4months more=$240 more per phone if we want it unlocked? Or we downgrade to the $30 plan on those lines we have to do another 6 months each?
I'm just trying to get a good phone for cheap that can be used with the cheap prepaid plans but the best I am getting with this deal is $459 ($219+240) or $339 ($219+120)?? Or am I missing something?
Any way to make it a better deal?
ETA: I just realized you said if we already have a plan, it is one month for $60. Then I can downgrade additional lines to $30 until unlocked? Help me with the Math please. Either ways we need 2 new phones and phone numbers that need to be switched to the Tmobile $15 plan or the Hello Mobile $10 plan.

So I ended up paying $99 for each phone and $40 for each plan, my total for 2 phones and 2 plans was $296 out the door after taxes.
if you want to unlock it, you can change your plan to the $30 before the 1st month ends.

So is this Math correct to get this unlocked:
Each additional line - $99 + $60 1-month + $150 ($30 after 1st month x 5) = $309
If I were to get a $100 tracfone samsung galaxy a14 for $100 and add $10x6months prepaid it would be $160, vs samsung s24 FE for $309 on cricket for 6 months.
Is the $149 difference worth it when we compare the 2 samsung phones?
