I have this as well, plays back all my files with no hiccups. With Unraid I'll get about 60ish mb/s doing a parity check. Over a 100 doing a regular move of files.

No any size will work. Just sizes over 22TB have not been verified by the manufacturer.

I bought this unit back in April for $299 and it has been a great DAS for my Beelink Unraid server ever since.

Is 22TB a hard limit? If higher capacity drives come out would I have to upgrade?

I feel this paired with a m4 Mac mini is the apex home NAS. Wish OSX server still existed but I'm sure you can configure OSX to a server like state. Unless you run ZFS then I think you'd have a ram shortage.

I get about 130-160MB/second reads off of this to my server. My plex server is on a different box and I don't even notice it. Both are on the same gigabit LAN.

You can add the drives to the array or they show up under unassigned devices?

I have one (gift) but not sure what to so with it....

Seems to have disconnect and instability problems from the reviews.

This doesn't support hardware raid, but anyone experience issues running software raid?

I want to build an unraid setup for home for home photo storage, but this report gives me pause. Something like this makes sense because I already have a spare tiny PC which I could repurpose, but my question is: is USB reliable and stable enough for long term NAS use? I'm old and remember having to fiddle with USB connections, unplugging and reconnecting devices in order to get them up work. Would this rival a large desktop PC with internal bays and direct SATA connections?
