Be very careful with bulk resellers on Groupon and social stack. They've been known to be selling office products for cheap AND you can find them on MS's authorized reseller pages... But bulk selling licenses like this isn't actually legal. MS can revoke them at any point. Seems like most people are willing to take the risk. This Costco deal seems to be actually really good for a genuine Home product.
Absolutely! But you're knowingly taking that risk instead of promoting the option as a risk-free choice. To each his own. But prices and 'deals' like that are closer to pirating software which should not be promoted on SD.

I initially purchased from Groupon and that seller gave me used key. After multiple follow ups I gave up and requested refund which took another month. Overall I will never buy software from Groupon .

I have yet to see one where the license got revoked. If this was at least somewhat widespread issue, I'd imagine there would be lawyers willing to file a class action suite against Groupon over this to make some money.
I have bought multiple versions of Office down through the years with no problems whatsoever. Never has one been deactivated. Most I ever paid was fifteen bucks. I've got two PCs running 21 right now, including the one I'm on now. I am building a new desktop now and will get both Win 11 and Office licenses for it when I am ready. I don't plan on spending more than thirty bucks for both. The one piece of advice I have is don't get the keys unless you plan on activating that same day. If you wait, it may have been sold and and activated by someone else.

Good advice, appreciate it. Going to be picking up a new laptop for my spouse, will make sure to wait until we're ready to install the office to acquire the key.

FYI MS office licenses are sold in various types such as retail (as you mention) or commercial or volume licenses. It's the terms and conditions which makes it illegal to use. There is a grey area so it's not as black and white as you see it with retail licenses. This is why it is legal for Groupon, stack social or other 3rd party selling volume licenses for cheaper because it's intended for software development, testing, virtual machines. MS already got their cut when the licenses were generated and sold to the vendor. This is why you see so many different stories of people saying their license was revoked or my license is going strong after X years. The intended use is already tracked by MS so it is perfectly legal to use under the terms and conditions.
Great summary but where this goes sideways is under "legal" vs "illegal". The license terms fall under contracts and thus would be under civil courts so it is not per se illegal it would be a contract dispute. Certain states may have laws on the books which may make gray market (typically resold vol licenses) a fine but I am unaware of people be arrested and going to jail for this. I am not saying this is the right thing to do, but certainly there are vendors out there reselling licenses (which is a channel violation if they get caught) outside of the terms but typically MSFT will just shut that off or potentially invalidate the license. I think MSFT has gone after bad channel actors and closed loopholes versus go directly after individuals or invalidate their activations. The risk is low today, but not saying it will always be that way because as a purchaser you need to know where things come from. If you see a product for $100 and someone offers it for $20 then there is probably a catch and thus YMMV.

For this product I would question why it is needed. The basic free office.com (M365) it perfectly usable for most people but if you want things like outlook, onedrive storage, or copilot you will need the M355 Copiliot SaaS license. There are is software like LibreOffice which are totally free and free of spyware and reselling you info that can read/write office documents.

I went ahead and purchased this deal. I had no problems adding the Visa gift card to Amazon and using it to purchase a $25 Amazon gift card.

I'm still using Microsoft Office 2007. I own it and have it on CD Rom (LOL) and can install it on as many computers as I wish. This offer is tempting since I run my small business computer on it. I use Outlook 2007 and I'm considering purchasing a new PC and I wonder if my legacy emails will be viewable in the newer version of Outlook (if it's even included in Office).

Edit:

I just looked it up, and Outlook is not included in this version of Office

To spend e Visa card we need to find an item exactly for $25 to redeem online? Cannot split with different payment method.
Buy a gift card to wherever you shop the most. For me, Amazon does it. I don't know about eCards, but physical Visa gift cards, I've always been able to transfer the money to my bank account. Oh, and so that I actually answer your question, if you buy a gift card to where you shop the most, then you can spend exactly full amount.

Can also spend it at say a grocery store in person. To spend it all at once, use it to pay for groceries over $25, then you'll be asked to provide another payment method for the remaining balance. Also an easy way to spend remaining balances on your $ gift cards.
