People should not abuse that return policy. If it breaks in 5yrs just buy another one. Don't be a cheapskate. Buy a new one.
I'm basically copy-pasting my response (for information) from the now dead $500 BB deal post, but despite Costco's return policy, I went for BB's for the low-reach and lit crevice tools, much like another poster had said they'd wished they'd done... These do come with a 2yr warranty at least, although would be nice if it were 5 for such a pricy product, even @ this price.

Dysons seem to have great longevity if you don't abuse them, though. I have a V7 Fluffy that's almost 5 years old now, it's been great since about half my floors are hard flooring, but I've wanted a carpet motor head because I do still have some carpet.. some observations side-by-side:

V7 Fluffy's head is still great at hard floors, but the new V15 detect head is on a whole other level - it's shorter/lighter/more compact so it can fit into tighter spaces, and it's hard to overstate how useful the laser is in spotting debris on hard floor. It's also just a satisfying effect as you go along - like a damp sponge cleaning a chalkboard. Makes you want to clean more, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

The new laser detect 'fluffy' head works fully & perfectly fine with the older V7

Carpet: V7 fluffy without a motorhead was obviously not super useful on carpets, loose surface debris, sure.. deep clean, absolutely not. V15 is on a whole other plane of existence, pretty sure the carpet motor head on it is more effective than my old plug-in Dyson Ball stand-up vac.

The new carpet motor head from the V15 does not work with the older V7.

Small motor brush: Old V7 one worked fine, new corkscrew head seems more aggressive and it's apparently great at rejecting hair/string/fur/etc. tangles
Crevice tool: This V15 @ BB comes with the lighted tool. Light doesn't work when used with the V7.
'Fancy tech' - V15 wins hands down.. with its screen and debris sensor, you get more information (incl a 'countdown timer' for the battery) and the vac itself can adjust power based on the debris it's actively picking up

I have cleaned a bit more with it since I posted in that thread, and it's been very effective. The carpet motor head & suction really does seem even more effective than my old wired Dyson Ball. Works well for stairs with a 'single pass' too.

As for 'bonuses' buying from Dyson directly? They've sometimes bundled additional tools in the past, but don't appear to be doing so right now.

Are you supposed to get an email for this? If not, can you provide the proof?

Discussion on it here. Not sure what the qualifying items are but last year it seems it was limited to online only which the item in this OP is not. Link [costco.com]to 2023 discussion. Link [costco.com]to Online Only products at Costco.

You'll find plenty of morally defunct people on this site. They'll even abuse student and corporate discounts even when they aren't eligible for it. It's unfortunate but that does explain the election results.

Why aren't you calling it Costco?
They are trying to save a second to use it elsewhere.

So the BB version had more/better accessories? Could've sworn Costco versions usually beat all others

That's not what I said. It's got a couple different ones that might be preferable. The Costco one has more but that's not necessarily better for me (it has more of the ones I never use with my V7). Both have an image on their respective retailer's sites that show the attachments they come with.

I appreciate the response, but "Dysons seem to have great longevity if you don't abuse them" is a HOT TAKE. I am not saying Dyson is bad, and maybe it is good, but just go to Dyson's Reddit or read the reviews. There are many, many people who are having issues in a few years. For $500.00, I would suggest everyone who has access to Cosco buy 100% of it from Cosco. You basically get an unlimited Lifetime Warranty, no questions asked. (Of course, if the thing runs for 5 years or so, I would suggest not abusing the policy). Either way $500.00 I would go for more warranty. As far as the tools, all of them you can get from eBay or other places, and they aren't that expensive so that really shouldn't be a deal breaker.

FYI: I bought the Cosco version. I hooked it up, and it's charging right now. Super excited to use this!

What if it breaks after 5-6 years? Can you still return to costco?
I mean if you can use vacuum for 5-6 years, you should just buy new one and should not abuse Costco return policy

I went to my local Costco yesterday and this Dyson was still showing $699 on the shelf tag. Are others able to get the $499 price at the warehouse right now?
