Anyone know the difference between this model and the MF654Cdw for $249 and Best Buy?

EDIT: i think the 656 has single pass duplex scanning and fax. 655 has single pass duplex. 654 has neither.

I have this for a year. Nothing but problems. Continuously disconnects from WiFi even with dedicated IP from router. Also only takes only Canon cartridges only otherwise you will have print issues & need to clean it frequently.

Comparing this with MF654Cdw, is it really that big of a deal that this has fax and duplex scanning? Do people still use fax?

Not a big deal for me. Bought the MF654Cdw a couple of weeks ago and price matched to current price at Best Buy. Will rotate and feed again if I run into a need for duplex copy/scan

Experienced the same with off branded toner. Streaks and dots everywhere. Looks terrible.

Mine doesn't disconnect at all. It's been connected forms mnth now.

Yes. Mine ran fine with the original Canon toner. I ran 3rd party in it and it's been nothing but a hassle. Yellow streaking down the entire length of the page. Some black dots on the roller, that now transfer on every job. I've done everything for clean it short of taking it apart and removing the rollers themselves. Can't find directions on how to disassemble to clean it either. I'm ready to just trash the whole thing.
