This year many of these models have been cheaper in very recent history (e.g., amazon had the A3500 for $349 a few days ago). They were cheaper right before the new Ascent series came out, as well. Maybe prices will drop around black friday or cyber monday. Previous posters have mentioned the refurbished A3500 being around $300 on Black Friday.
Funny you say that cause I finally tossed out my mom's old 80s oster two days ago. It's not even close to keeping up with the power of my Vitamix. I no longer fear blackberry seeds in my smoothies.

What's the difference between the "Explorian with programs" for $199 and the "Explorian Series" for $219? Trying to decide between the Explorian and the Venturist V1200 which is also $199. My main uses are smoothies with seeds and berries, and things like Hummus, and ninja/nutribullet can never get these super smooth.

Edit: the Venturist comes with 5 years warranty which is a nice bonus

I got the venturist a few months ago for the same price and this thing is probably the best purchase I've made in the last few years. Absolute beast of a blender

Amazing! $200 for a Vitamix. I remember the demos and $500 price tags way back in the day
How does this compare to Ninja? I've been able to get a Ninja for $100.

Ninja is a plastic toy and gears.

The $40 Oster 1400(Glass) and $200 Vitamix are built to last.

These things are so expensive it's hard to justify replacing my old 1984 Oyster.
In some ways a $50 glass oster is better. it does sound like a jet engine, glass means no drinking microplastic flaxseeds.

got the A3500 from amazon last week for $350 + 10% back on prime card.

Looking at the V1200 for $200. Is the A3500 worth the extra $$?

Thanks
I got the same one. However my unit arrived in a brown Vitamix box and did not come with the original vitamix product box. I am confused if this is a refurbished or new. Any thoughts?

That's how mine came too. I thought that's how they did it but if you look at the listings reviews you can see some photos of the black Vitamix box. I don't know what's app with that. Maybe the serial number on the machine tells the unit is refurbished or not? I don't care too much as long as it has the 10yr warranty so I need to find out for sure

edit: found this thread on Reddit and looks like they do the plain brown box sometimes, probably when they have a big drop for an Amazon sale

If you want, for $100 more the Venturist at Costco on sale now for $299 with 10 years warranty. It's sale end Dec 2 though. The extra 3 years warranty from Vitamix for certified already $75.
