I just put up two solar S340, one wired floodlight E340 and the Home base S380. The software and hardware is very buggy for detecting, following and recording subject motion that is further than 10 feet. Sometimes they would follow sometimes they wouldn't. Same for recording. Sometimes they would start recording when the subject entered the zone, sometimes not until they were leaving the zone, etc, etc, etc.
Support wait times are close to an hour and did not resolve anything. Email correspondence said they would replace all of the units but with refurbished units. I declined as the units were working fine within the 10 ft zone area. To replace brand new units that cost me nearly $700 with refurbished units would NOT be such a great idea. I had set up the cameras to include extended zones and confirmed all of my settings were correct as I'm pretty savvy and precise in setting up tech equipment.
I feel like the app and the hardware had not been fully tested in the real world environment and that I was now the beta test, a.ka guinea pig.
Btw, do not use the included mounting bracket screws. They are so bad, small screw heads and soft metal that you will wind up stripping them and not be able to remove the mounting brackets should you decide to change their location. Go to your local hardware store and get some non-rusting quality screws or better yet, depending on available mounting spots, purchase the rain gutter mounts instead. Much faster installation and much more flexibility for moving the cameras around.
In conclusion and from this experience, I would NOT purchase again and would not recommend.
I should have read the Reddit reviews. Lesson learned! Hoping their updates will eventually iron out all of the bugs but I'm not holding my breath.

My solar powered eufy stopped working after 9 months. They said we weren't getting enough sunlight in August when it worked fine in February. Been through a couple of calls (troubleshooting) and emails where it seems they are stalling asking for more and more info instead of replacing.

What kind of battery life could you expect on these with the solar powered attachment? Assuming fairly quiet neighborhood so some activity but not too much, would set it to human detection, and for worst case scenario let's say it's winter time (so less sun and reduced battery performance given extreme temperatures).

For 24/7 recording, has anyone tried the cheap E220 indoor camera under an eave plugged into a nearby outlet?

Returned this due to weak wifi signal. Might be fine if your house is well covered

So, not good for long distances either....I need something at the end of a 800ft. driveway.

I got the 4g and wifi one and the wifi on that is better mounted at the same location. This one was disconnecting a lot and it was unusable

Can this camera run on always on power supply if you don't want to use solar?

I didn't find any wired camera similar to this from eufy.
Yes, solar panel connect via USB-C plug to the camera and this how you charge it before the first use and where there is no sufficient solar to charge the battery. So you can have it always is the charge mode by connecting it via USB-C cable.

Once the S340 is initiated and mounted outside, it only runs off the built-in rechargeable battery, which gets recharged by the solar panel. It cannot be hard wired and is powered ONLY by the rechargeable battery.
The naximum recording length is 120 seconds that can be set up in the "Power Options" settings. I'm sure this length of time was done so as not to completely depleat the battery.

So this deal is for the S340 but the Costco link is for an S3.

Is there a difference between the two?
