T-mobile has a hidden plan for 30GB data a month data plan (you get your own sim and need your own device).

I got a cellular modem for $40: https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi/lte-modems/lm1200/ [netgear.com] and was able to use it with T-mobile's provided sim card.

Call in or use their online chat to inquire about the "Basic Mobile Internet 30GB plan (SOC: MI30TE or MI30TI)". It is $15/mo but you get a $5/mo discount by using autopay.

If you can't repro then you suck. This also provides you with a phone number for the data account and you get access to t-mobile tuesdays despite it only being a data plan Smilie

Thanks OP! I was able to call Costco T-Mobile, and they actually had a BOGO 50% off promotion going on, so I got two of these lines for $15 with no activation charges or start-up charges
Did you need IMEIs for the activation? Or did you get a physical SIM card mailed that you can use in any device?

Cannot repro unfortunately. Wasted 45 minutes with CSR via chat just now. Copied pasted the exact plan name and after a few back and forth declining their upsell, i was told the price for this plan is 45/mo. I do not have existing t-mo plan. Maybe i got a wrong CSR, congrats to you if you can repro this deal.

This is the number I called. I just got off the phone with them. It worked and also receiving $25 giftcard per line.

edit. you can also go to Costco app type tmobile in the search bar & number will come up. That's how I found it.

If you want to get it earlier than Amazon. I cancelled the Amazon order since it won't be shipped until Dec 13-20. Netgear also has id.me which saved me a few dollars.

How do you get the $25 Costco card? The T-Mobile rep gave me some kinds of codes but no idea where to use them.

At Costco today, I asked about this deal. I currently have 5 lines on Magenta Max.

The rep checked, and said he could offer me: 40 GB/Month for $15/ month, with $5/month discount for autopay for total of $10/month. Additional offer of $25 Costco Gift card

He also offered a Buy One, get half off: the deal was TWO separate hotspot lines, each with 40GB/month, for a total of $15/month with autopay for both lines Each line also came with $25 Costco Gift card for total of $50 cash card.

I took the two line deal.

Separately, I tried to upgrade my Pixel 7 to Pixel 10 Pro, but rep told me he couldn't match the online deal directly from T-Mobile.com and told me I was better off doing that upgrade online.

Can you cancel one of the two lines later on?

Did you receive the email from T-mobile, I called and completed the order but never received the email. Rep told emails should be coming in 10mins, check the spam.

Does anyone know if this plan allows the cellular modem to be used in Bridge mode? I've read some review about the Netgear modem on Amazon and people are complaining that Bridge mode doesn't work. It's not the modem preventing it, but the carrier. I was planning on using this as a backup to my fiber, and would like to maintain the same functionality on the backup that I have on my primary connection.

How much is it monthly 10 dollars each? Or 15 for both. Thanks
