T-mobile has a hidden plan for 30GB data a month data plan (you get your own sim and need your own device).

I got a cellular modem for $40: https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi/lte-modems/lm1200/ [netgear.com] and was able to use it with T-mobile's provided sim card.

Call in or use their online chat to inquire about the "Basic Mobile Internet 30GB plan (SOC: MI30TE or MI30TI)". It is $15/mo but you get a $5/mo discount by using autopay.

If you can't repro then you suck. This also provides you with a phone number for the data account and you get access to t-mobile tuesdays despite it only being a data plan Smilie

Went through costco 833 number and had to wait 30 min before someone was able to get on to take my order. Confirmed 10/mo and you can get 15/mo for 2 hot spot lines (if you need it) with auto pay. Also $25 gift card ordering via costco line but only redeemable at http://promotions.t-mobile.com after 90 days of line opening.

I didn't need a second hot spot line so just opted in for the 1 line for 10/mo + $25 gc.
For the gift card, add promo code 240150 and your costco ID to claim.

I know this is a little off topic, but besides the Hotspot plans being buy 1 get 1 half off (at least through Costco), the watch lines are also this way. I ordered a watch sim for $7 per month, and the next would have been $3.50 per month (so $10.50 per mo for 2 lines, MWR500 plan id). Phone lines aren't eligible though.

You are also eligible for the Costco credit for each watch line too.

Those who meet income requirements can get unlimited data from pcsforpeople for $11.xx month if you pay for a year.
They have 5G data lines. My speed was 50mps

How is the speed on the T-Mobile plan?

I had opened up this line on Oct 27 and paid that 10bucks to activate. But then I'm seeing $18.94 for "1 connected device" on my current bill. Could anyone explain? I'll have to call to clarify this charge.

They have both options at that price point - I did mine as a stand-alone, but they said it would be the same price to share a number with a phone plan you have with T Mobile.

No. You can just get the data or watch sim.

I almost posted the Costco deals as a separate deal - buying this through Costco is super slick (front page worthy... between the waived fees, cheap monthly plan, and $25 cash back...).

You could always cancel the plan you bought and open a new line through Costco, but there is the 30 minute wait to talk to an agent...
