T-mobile has a hidden plan for 30GB data a month data plan (you get your own sim and need your own device).

I got a cellular modem for $40: https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi/lte-modems/lm1200/ [netgear.com] and was able to use it with T-mobile's provided sim card.

Call in or use their online chat to inquire about the "Basic Mobile Internet 30GB plan (SOC: MI30TE or MI30TI)". It is $15/mo but you get a $5/mo discount by using autopay.

If you can't repro then you suck. This also provides you with a phone number for the data account and you get access to t-mobile tuesdays despite it only being a data plan Smilie

I just came back from Costco in my area and I was able to get my plan set up with the TI on two Franklin T10s I got from amazon. No activation fees and signed up for the 2 $25 gift cards. Thanks OP and everyone sharing the tips.

I took in the SOC codes for TI and BOGO50 and the rep ran my credit ad had me set up in less than 20 minutes. Costco hot dog was my reward.

My online account also says that the taxes are included on each line. I purchased a Netgear LM1200 from Netgear with the Capital 1 shop app (IYKYK)and popped the sim in when I got home. I am posting from that device's connection now!

Going to Costco kiosk today to get a tablet plan. Can someone please confirm if you can still buy ZB10HSTI (business magenta promo) for $10 at Costco?
Did you end up getting the business tablet plan?

Thanks for this. I got myself this deal recently and purchased a LM1200 from Netgear. My mistake was not doing the Bogo Deal $10 + $5 for second mobile internet plan because the sales rep i was chatting to told me it was still $10 for the second MI line.
Is it possible to add another mobile internet line for $5? I need a line for a phone to leave in my car that's data only.

My Comcast/Infinity here in CA has been plagued with outages with the tech service confirming that my house is the last on their cable pipeline. Even though he bumped the speed, outages continue. If I go with this 30GB of data a month, will watching a few hours of Prime, Tubi, etc. and a few hours of internet eat up the 30GB before the month is over? T-Mo signal is strong at my house.
Prime will suck through that 30GB faster than Tubi will, as I believe Prime is typically HD video quality, whereby Tubi is often SD quality (leaving you more watching hours during an outage). I think the nice thing about this plan is, if Xfinity goes out, you can potentially get online to see how long things will take in your area to get back to "normal."

Correct. No international roaming. I gave up this plan when I discovered that I couldn't use it in Canada. I've changed the plan to the magenta business tablet plan that has slow international roaming. The plan worked on my s22u most of the countries I've visited except one, which always dropped my connection/couldn't roam. no issue on a54 on another sim card with same tablet plan.

I got the renewed Frankin 5G from Amazon for $80.
Popped in the sim card and worked right out of the box.
Went outside and got around 85mbps on 5g.
So stoked that I got 2 lines for $15.
Much better than spending $40 for Spectrum on the land that I go to 2 times a month.
Perfect deal for my situation since I don't really need that much data just for wifi equipment.
My wife also work at home so I can use the other sim for backup internet if it ever go down.

Actually, I did. I took a chance and asked the t mobile rep at Costco about the SOC code. He was able to find that without any issues but he had trouble setting up my account. We tried at least 7-8 times and every time it errored out. Then he went to his peer and he did something and bam! It worked. It took me 30-40 mins but it was worth it.
The good thing is that the plan is $10 straight. No autopay or anything like that and it is a tax inclusive plan. I think my activation fee is also waived but will know more when the bill is generated.

Yes, it has international roaming. I told the rep that I run my own business and he set up a business account for me. I can only login via T-Mobile business portal and see the details

Btw, I have been using this from couple days now on an older device OnePlus 8 and the speeds are not that great especially uploads. Sometimes I get like 9-10mbps down and 1mbps up. I am connected to a 5g network but not getting reliable speed. What might be causing this issue any idea?

This is what I can see in my account page

This Magenta Business Tablet Promo plan provides:
  • Unlimited 5G/4G LTE data in the U.S. on our network so you can watch, stream and play all day! No data overages.
  • Up to 10GB of 5G/4G LTE mobile hotspot data, then at max 3G speeds after that.
  • Plus data in Mexico and Canada with up to 5GB of 5G/4G LTE at no extra charge!
  • Get unlimited data at 2G speeds in 210+ countries and destinations.
  • Capable device required; coverage not available in some areas.
  • Video typically streams on smartphone/tablet at DVD quality (480p) unless HD pass is activated.
  • During congestion, customers on this plan using >50GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization.
  • For tablets, on-device usage is prioritized over tethering usage, which may result in higher speeds for data used on device.
  • Some uses may require additional plan or feature.
  • Not eligible to AutoPay or Hybrid discounts
