Wife bought this last year so she didn't have to use the dining room table for laptop and small projects. We paid $80 for it. Looks good just about anywhere and is very sturdy. I've stood on it before to reach something high up and it held my weight no wobble (170lbs).

However...

$56 is a better price because the assembly line they use must be half asleep. A leg was missing ALL holes and I had to drill them in (metal but hollow so any power drill will do) I also redrilled another hole under table because it was misaligned.

There was a weird smell and strange rust stains on legs that came from something else (scrubbed off). Cheap styrofoam was all crushed up in the box as well. I remember thinking this box must have been crushed in a damp metal shipping container for a long ass time. Just to be safe I washed down the whole thing with sponge and dishsoap before bringing in house.

TLDR:
OPEN AND ASSEMBLE THIS OUTDOORS OR IN GARAGE!
Walmart is willin' with these MSRPs. I swear they're just making up numbers
I'll reply because I have a different theory

As long as you are cool with some minor DIY during the assembly it's a good price.

Why would a desk like this even have fiberglass?

Except the 12% of 1-star reviews. Whenever the reviews breakdown forms a, "C" shape, I take that as a pretty big red flag

I bought this table for $59 in April 2024. It's good but not great quality. Worth the $59, but definitely not $172; this is artificially inflated to give a sense of a discount.

When they say wood, I take it they mean wood laminate?

Thanks for the review comments everyone. Based on that, I think I'll pass on this, though I'm in the market for one, use as a printer station.

Yeah, pricing appears to be same at Walmart. But Amazon is most egregious. Their prices fluctuate so much, I guess that's why they don't caught and penalized for it. There's an outdoor table I've been watching. Three weeks before BF, it was at it's lowest at $89. Then it creeped up. Now has the red BF deal tag for $120. I suppose Amazon, Walmart, wherever, if you want a true good deal, you put it in the save list, then compare to BF deals, or other sales.

Yes I think it's a laminated particle board. Definitely not solid wood

Willing = to will something into existence means to bring something into being or reality through sheer determination, focus, or intention. It implies that an individual's strong belief, effort, or mental resolve plays a key role in making something happen, even when it initially seems unlikely or impossible.

This concept often relates to the power of positive thinking, visualization, or manifesting a desired outcome through persistent action and unwavering confidence. While it is metaphorical and not literal, it reflects the idea that focused willpower and belief can drive tangible results.
