Also Rise of the Ronin is $30. Too bad I already have Silent Hill 2 or I would of got it now.

Yeah I got Rise of the Ronin and Spiderman 2. I just need Stellar Blade at $30 bucks to finish my video game shopping.

It's hard to say if you haven't played any Silent Hill games. You don't need to play any though to play this one because all the Silent Hill games are pretty much independent games aside from Silent Hill 3 which is a continuation of Silent Hill 1.
The game is focused much more on atmosphere and story. You don't get as much visceral scares as you do in other horror games, meaning there's barely any jump scares and overt gore. It's more of a creeping unease paired with a great story. Things are creepy/scary (and depending on the player it can be extremely terrifying to just unsettling), but it's not the same as like Outlast where the game is super overt with the gore and jump scares or like Resident Evil where it's more combat focused with a fairly cheesy story.
It's one of my favorite game series and the remake is very well done. So I highly recommend it but not if you're looking for a Resident Evil or Outlast style experience.
