Dammit, my brother in law, partially on my advice, just bought, for their living room, the Hisense 85U8N at Best Buy for 1699, which is being delivered tomorrow. If I'd known about this a couple of days ago, I'd have probably recommended this, although their living room can get sunny, and I know from experience with my A80J that OLEDs look fantastic as long as ambient light isn't too great.

They will likely respect your prior decision more. The size and less glare issues makes me feel like you led them correctly.

I hope so! I just worry about the reliability and the viewing angles, since the U8N in that size is VA, instead of IPS like the 75", and Hisense obviously isn't as well established a brand as LG.
